Wine/Cheese 2

This is me and my friend Matt meeting up for our Wine and Cheese tasting. In the background you can see our three wines and three cheeses.

These are the three cheeses we tried: Chipotle and Habanero, Muenster, and Salsa Jack.

The first wine we tried was the Robery Mondavi. This wine is from California and it is a Pinot Noir. It had a dark purple color. It smelled like grass mixed with chocolate. It tasted sour like cherries and a lot of limes. We tried the Chipotle and Habanero cheese with this wine. The cheese was very spicy. The spiciness of the cheese mixed well with the wine. It gave it a little kick. It could have been a little less spicy.

The second wine we tried was a white wine called FlipFlop. This was a Riesling. It had a clear color and a little yellow. It didn't really have a smell to it. It was a little sweet and had a fruity blend to it. It was kind of bland. The cheese we tried with this was the Muenster. I did not like this cheese. It did not really have a flavor to it. They both mixed well together because their bland flavors combined to form one awesome cheesy wine flavor.

The last wine we tried was the Moscato Bella. This wine had a bright yellow color. It smelled like grass and smelled like crappy perfume. This is something I wouldn't want to get again. It tasted like bubble gum and very sweet and fruity. The cheese we tried with this was the Salsa Jack. This was the best of the three cheeses. It tasted really good. The wine cancels out the taste of the cheese but you get two good sensations mixed into one. I thought it was really good.

Winery Review: "The 2012 Tres Ojos Garnacha contains 15% Tempranillo (I wonder why), and unoaked cuvée of 200,000 bottles that matures in vat for at least seven months before bottling. What I tasted was a very honest, fresh and fruit-driven red with aromas of cherries, garrigue and thyme with a medium-bodied palate, some weight and tannins that would do better with food. This is a red that sells for a song.”.

My Review: This red wine was dark purple. It smelled like a typical red wine. It smelled like grass and dirt. It also smelled like blackberries and vodka. It was not bitter at all and tasted like chocolate. It was also really dry and woody.
